Carpe diem is dead or just over rated

A thought came to my mind yesterday. We, us, me, our existence is not us, is not you. How can one say this is me, when, with every day that passes we change. We are not the same person that we where 5 minutes ago. There is no consistence when it comes to humans. Thats the problem, that’s why there’s so many conflicts in ones life.

Everything that we do, that we see, that we feel alters our own self. This happens on a molecule level but at a higher level too. How can we define our own self when we change, and chance, and chance? It’s the same with defining the present tense, what is the present? Once you say “this is the present” it becomes history, is gone and what comes, the next present is future tense, it’s the future. So is the present just a gateway from the past to the future? You can’t touch the present, you can touch the past, but what about the future?

Isn’t it weird? Is like we have to live our lives in the now but what does that mean? Where is this Carpe Diem? What tense does it become? Past, future, the gateway between this two? We can understand life only backwards, looking at the past, but it must be lived forwards, looking at the future because present is simply death.

Do I make any sense?

Momentele Carpe Diem sunt the building blocks of life daca vrei. :) Parerea mea…
